From personal experience as well as social behavior you might have realized the value of branding.

When there are two products which are similar in most aspects and one is from a branded company… which one do I choose? Of course the product from a branded company. Why?

Why do we value a branded company or a person who is an expert in personal branding?

Brands imply

- the company is safe to deal with

- the products of the company may cost a little higher but worth it because of the care they take to keep their standards high

- the products of the company is likely to have been tested to maintain a specific quality standard

- the company is one I would like to be associated with and earn respect as a proud owner of a branded product

- the company is likely to have a widespread distribution and people of varying background must have used the products and found them to be good

- the company must be profitable enough to establish its position as a Brand Name and retain its position there - this in turn speaks for the quality of the product.

If I am interested in branding, how do I find out what my position is? How successful I am in branding my company?

I searched and found a Branding Test. I found this to be a unique way to measure the strength of my brand.

I had to answer 12 questions to find out where I rank on the brand strength meter.

I took the Branding Test , which covered

- products /services

- target markets

- Messaging and

- Communications

There were three questions in each of the four categories of the Branding Test.

It is self assessment of my own company. My assessment is focussed through the specific questions I had to answer. To get the results I had to fill in the details of my company and give them my email. But the test is free.

I can take help from brandingidentityguru.com to improve my branding efforts and increase my market share. But that is optional. I think it is worth going through the Branding Test as it gets us thinking in the right direction and improve branding efforts.
