Automated Blogs Vs Authority Blogs

The virtual world is splitting in the middle - on one side you have cheer leaders for automated blog creation systems and on the other side you have people who advocate putting in a lot of work to create authority blogs.

In the last four years of my online experience I have done most of the things. I have had blogs with PLR content, I have put up automated blogs and I have maintained just one or two blogs with my own content.

I fell for the sales letter calculations of $1 per day per blog means $1500 per month for 50 blogs. I readily paid one tenth of that amount as membership to the people who promised it. All I was asked to do was to do a bit of research, choose the niche, book the domain name, find RSS feeds and put up my blog and everything else will be taken care of. To this day I earn $1 per day from all the 50 sites put together.

I got PLR content, had no time for modifications or did not care enough, created many blogs. Put up AdSense and affiliate programs on the blog and waited for money to pour in. I am still waiting.

Now it is important that I have to make a choice. Do I want 100s of blogs that make me very little money? Do I want to work hard on one blog, that I will be proud of?

I am not saying this choice is very easy. At the beginning of online venture many may like to choose the easy way, the glittering path that blinds the reasoning mind. I am so calculative and I would never fall for any ordinary tricks of sales letters. Yet I fell for the ones which cleverly convinced me by promising very little - just one dollar a day per site - shouldn’t be too difficult, right?

And what was the other option? Work on your blog day-after-day and give it an authority status. Spend hours on market research, choose a niche you want to pursue for life, plan your site to the minutest detail, follow a systematic plan for promotion and post great content on the site, according to a plan.

The choices we make in life reveal the level of our own maturity. If you ask your child to choose between a thousand dollar note a piggy bank full of small coins, what they pick will depend on how old they are and how much they understand what that money can get for them.

Choices made by individuals depend on their maturity, previous experience and future aspirations of what they want from life. But the choice that requires no persuasion or conviction from others for me is to build one good content blog to balance the trash of 100s of others I have built.

It is not that I have worked less on those 100s of blogs. I had to spend time in research, I had to maintain them, add codes to them, promote them, check them periodically and so on. My energy was spread among 100 blogs. Had I focussed that energy on just one thing I could have lit fire through my WorldView. I could have ordered the solar rays to make fire for me but I was busy moving my magnifying glass over 100 destinations.

All is Well That Ends Well…

At last, my previous experiences and my future plans have taken a decision of their own to pursue the focussed path of building a lasting business through one Authority Site.

Authority Site Center has a very systematic 60-day plan for site promotion. It is very clearly laid out step-by-step plan to promote your site and get more visitors to read the great content you produce.

Social Power Linking is a coaching program in promoting your site through web2.0 properties.

From what I have heard so far if you are new to WordPress you should join ASC and if you are very well versed in WordPress it would be beneficial to join SPL.

To start with you can read the Authority Black Book that is absolutely free of cost.
