Dr. Joe Rubino’s The Self-Esteem Book
Dr. Joe Rubino has released a book titled “The Self Esteem: The Ultimate guide to Boost the Most Underrated Ingredient for Success and Happiness in Life“.
Download a free audio “7 Steps to Soaring Self Esteem“.
The book promises to help you
- Complete your past
- assess your present
- design your future
“Enhancing self-esteem is 80 percent about completing your past and 20 percent about designing your future.” -Dr. Joe Rubino
As soon as I heard about Dr. Joe Rubino’s book I thought of my close friend and her son. My friend has been discussing with me the problems her son was facing not with the idea that I will be able to solve it but with the intention of giving a voice to her thoughts and relieving herself of a stressful phase of life. I also thought of similar instances with other friends and relatives as well as news I get to hear everyday about young students committing suicide because they are unable to cope with the situations they face in college or office.
I read through Dr. Joe’s self-esteem book keeping in mind the people I care about and whether they will benefit if they buy a copy of this book and sincerely apply what Dr. Joe suggests.
First let me tell you the goal Dr. Joe has set for himself in the book.
According to Dr. Joe, “With this book YOU will
- Uncover the secrets to accessing your personal power.
- Create a structure for maximizing your effectiveness with others.
- Learn to take total responsibility for everything in your life.
- Discover the key elements to accomplishment and how to reach your goals in record time.
- Identify your life rules and discover how honoring your core values can help you maximize productivity.
- Complete your past and design your future on purpose.
- Discover the keys to communicating effectively and intentionally.
- Stop complaining and start doing.
- Seize your personal power and conquer resignation in your life.
- Learn how to generate conversations that uncover new possibilities.
- See how embracing problems can lead to positive breakthroughs in
life.
- Leave others whole while realizing the power of telling the truth.
- Learn how to develop the charisma necessary to attract others to you”
This goal is achieved through 12 clearly laid out steps, a series of exercises, real case studies and definite action plans.
If anyone takes up Dr. Joe’s challenge and “adopt an intention to apply the principles discussed and perform the exercises” I am sure they can reclaim their self-esteem in all aspects of life.
Here is the challenge:
“Challenge: Decide now to take on the personal development exercises outlined in this book. You have the ability to reinvent yourself, elevate your self-esteem and lead a fulfilling life. It all starts now with your decision to do so. Do not simply read this book from a passive perspective, like watching television. Instead, adopt an intention to apply the principles discussed and perform the exercises suggested with the knowledge that they will transform your life and restore your self-esteem.”
I read this 157-page self-esteem book at one go. I thought I will read a few pages and write a review but when it touched my life at sensitive points I could not stop myself from reading the entire book. I will have to read it again and complete properly the steps I rushed through in the first reading.
I feel there is a lot the author expects from the reader in terms of self introspection, analysis, exercise completion that it may not be possible for everyone to do it without assistance.
I feel the need for a group where committments can be made and people can help each other to persist with the actions they need to take to achieve goals. The type of changes we envisage for ourselves and work towards need empahsis from others’ experiences and group support.
If any of you read this self-esteem book I would love to discuss this with you at google wave.
I particularly feel that the case studies can have multiple interpretations and the interpretations themselves are likely to change as we mature and gain more self esteem.
