Dr. Mani’s ’47 Hearts’

Posted by Rangoo under Reviews

Dr. Mani’s book  ’47 Hearts: How To Live Your Dreams And Reach Your Goals With Passion, Purpose & Persistence’ is based on his own experience of achieving goals in the past and his firm resolution to achieve more in the future.

All of us  go through a variety of experiences in our life but very few of us can dig deep enough to read the universal message beyond the personal experience. Out of the few who can read the universal message that can be shared with others for their benefit, extremely rare are those who can pen it down in practical steps that are easy to understand, absorb, apply and implement.

Dr. Mani is one such rare writer who touches millions of hearts with the tender stroke of his pen powered by his heart-felt wisdom drawn from his life saving heart surgeries.

Everything in the book is drenched in simplicity, practicality, honesty and sincerity. Dr. Mani, the doctor-cum-infopreneur-cum-author never blows his own trumpet. We meet a simple person with an exotic dream who has faced his quantum of successes and failures in life, who can convey his ideas in the simplest of terms.

As a teacher, I feel this book should be given to all K 10-12 children. [There have been many heart-breaking suicides by children in India.] The book is simple enough for them to read and understand.

I wish they would have a poster above their study table with Dr. Mani’s quotation:

“Determine to succeed. Treat setbacks as stepping stones. Learn, improve and grow. And keep going until you reach your goal.”

The language of the book is simple, crisp, positive, motivating and inspiring.

Dr. Mani does not paint a rosy picture and say dream, work and you will succeed. He shoulders the responsibility to warn the readers about pitfalls, setbacks and hurdles they are likely to face while walking on the path of their dreams. This section is more important than the other sections of the book.

I reviewed the digital version of the book to be published.

Once you read the book you can continue the process of your growth by preparing the following:

1. A mind-map outlining the steps he took from the inception of the dream to forming the teams to learning from mistakes and restructuring the vision.

2. A reference list of selected people who worked to realize their dreams with a short synopsis of the hurdles they faced and solutions they arrived at.

3. A set of statements that can be converted into posters to be hung on walls. You can take a survey, identify the areas where you are likely to lose-heart, choose the appropriate quotations, print them out and hang them in prominent places.

I will leave you with a quotation, read what is under it by getting the book on February 14 at www.47hearts.com
